The 5 most expensive electric cars in the world

The electric car market continues to establish itself in the most developed countries, and range is likely the key purchasing factor for a significant percentage of drivers. Despite this detail, the luxury sector is also making its mark with extremely eye-catching models that are simultaneously out of reach for most. If you want to see the crème de la crème of these vehicles, take a look at this list of the 5 most expensive electric cars in the world.

Pininfarina B95 (4.4 Million Euros)

The Monterey Car Week recently held in the state of California, USA, served to unveil the latest developments in the automotive world. One of the most striking revelations was the introduction of the Pininfarina B95. This exclusive Italian-made electric car stands out not only for its astronomical price but also for its ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in two seconds and charge from 20% to 80% in just 25 minutes. Its range is also commendable, reaching up to 476 kilometers without needing to connect to the grid, according to the WLTP standard.

Interested in buying it? Beyond preparing your wallet, you’ll also need luck, as only 10 units of this electric convertible, capable of exceeding 300 km/h and equipped with electronic adjustable aerodynamic screens instead of a windshield, will be available.

Aspark Owl (2.9 Million Euros)

The arrival of the Pininfarina B95 has completely overtaken the leadership held by the Aspark Owl, which until last week was the most expensive electric car in the world. The Japanese manufacturer demonstrated that it’s also possible to develop hypercar electric vehicles. In this case, the acceleration from 0 to 96.6 km/h (60 miles) is achievable in just 1.72 seconds, and it can reach a top speed of 400 km/h. With a price tag of nearly three million euros and only 50 units available, it’s still possible to acquire an Aspark Owl in Monaco, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Pininfarina Battista (2.2 Million Euros)

Pininfarina has become a pioneer brand in the electrification of luxury cars. Four years before introducing the B95, it made its mark at the Geneva Motor Show with the Pininfarina Battista, a car equipped with a 120 kWh battery supplied by the Croatian manufacturer Rimac. This super sports coupe had a limited production of 150 units and managed to break five different world records thanks to an acceleration that surpasses that of current Formula 1 cars. It also became the electric production car with the most efficient braking (from 100 km/h to zero in 31 meters). Interestingly, the range of the Pininfarina Battista is 476 km, exactly the same as the newly introduced B95.

Lotus Evija (2 Million Euros)

A bit more “affordable” is the Lotus Evija, which offers 2,000 horsepower and a range of 400 kilometers for two million euros. The British manufacturer also hopped onto the electric car trend a few years ago, developing the most powerful car in its history, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in three seconds and 0 to 300 km/h in nine seconds. It also stood out as the lightest electric supercar, weighing 1,680 kg. Production was limited to 130 units.

Rimac Nevera (2 Million Euros)

We conclude the list with another brand that has already been mentioned in this article: Croatian brand Rimac. In 2018, Rimac launched 150 units of the Rimac Nevera, a futuristic hypercar with 1,914 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.85 seconds, and a range of 550 km. This model recently took the record for the fastest electric car at the iconic Nürburgring circuit from the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and the Tesla Model S.
