Smartwatches and fitness trackers have become a common companion for many wrists, and Samsung aims to remain a leading brand in the smartwatch market with the release of their new Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic. These two models retain the appeal of the series while enhancing certain aspects, such as advanced measurements, a slimmer bezel for the Classic, and a fast-charging system that provides eight hours of usage with just eight minutes of charging. Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic will be available on the market starting from August 11th. Prices start at 320 euros for the Galaxy Watch6 and 420 euros for the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic, with dial sizes ranging from 40mm to 47mm. Let’s delve into the details of these gadgets.

As is customary in the smartwatch and fitness tracker realm, the level of changes between one generation and the next is becoming more incremental. Companies are aware that the scope for innovation on the wrist with this technology is not vast, so they focus on refining designs and improving existing features. One of the key novelties of the Galaxy Watch6 is the enhancements in its measurements. Specifically, there have been significant improvements in the sleep tracking feature. The watch now provides in-depth analysis of various factors that influence sleep, including total sleep time, sleep cycle, wake time, and physical and mental recovery. It also offers personalized sleep scores and features like sleep consistency to assess the regularity of our sleep hours, as well as a cute animal that represents the type of sleep we had. Additionally, there’s a sleep improvement mode to help enhance our sleep hours. Moreover, the watch automatically enters sleep mode by muting notifications to avoid disturbances.

Another area that has received improvements is the heart rate monitor. There is now a personalized feature that analyzes each user’s physical capabilities and defines five optimal running intensity levels to help achieve various goals, from fat burning to high-intensity training. All this is complemented by over 100 different workout modes.

In terms of design, these watches sport slimmer bodies and bezels (the Galaxy Watch6 Classic has a rotating bezel). The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 is available in four different configurations, with dials measuring 40mm (Bluetooth-only version at 320 euros and cellular version at 370 euros) and 44mm (Bluetooth-only version at 350 euros and cellular version at 400 euros). The Galaxy Watch6 Classic comes in four different configurations with dials measuring 43mm (Bluetooth-only version at 420 euros and cellular version at 470 euros) and 47mm (Bluetooth-only version at 450 euros and cellular version at 500 euros). Pre-orders are now available, and they will be officially released on August 11th in stores.
