The year 2023 has been a significant one for HONOR, as it has finally become completely independent, launching a variety of devices across all sectors. From smartphones like the Honor 90 to tablets like the Honor Pad X9, and now it’s time for wearables.
Of course, this isn’t the first time HONOR has launched a smartwatch, but for all practical purposes, we could consider this launch a ‘fresh start.’ It has very little in common with previous models, such as the Honor Watch 3 GS released last year.
To begin with, the format is completely different, which is obvious when we see that it’s a watch with a square face rather than a round one. Design has clearly been a significant consideration, with a chassis constructed from aluminum alloy available in both rose gold and black.
The Honor Watch 4 is dominated by a 1.75-inch AMOLED display, compatible with an ‘always-on’ technology to show information like the time at a glance. Another noteworthy technical feature is the 120 Hz touch sampling rate and the 60 Hz refresh rate, which should translate into a smooth touchscreen experience.
Continuing with the hardware, the 451 mAh battery also stands out, promising up to 14 days of battery life under typical usage scenarios. As usual, the actual duration will depend on the type of usage and whether we make use of all the functions the device offers. One of these functions is Bluetooth calling, which allows us to talk directly through the integrated microphone and speaker as long as we sync the watch with a smartphone.
On the software front, HONOR promises access to over 300 watch faces, allowing us to express ourselves as we wish and access the device’s functions. Among these functions are fitness features, which allow us to view calories burned and estimate our ‘fitness age,’ providing an assessment of our physical condition based on various indicators. The company claims that the optical micro-lens array works with artificial intelligence algorithms to accurately monitor heart rate and display alerts. It can also measure oxygen saturation (SpO2), stress, sleep quality, and menstrual cycles.
The Honor Watch 4 is available starting today for 169 euros.
