The second space of Xiaomi consumes too much battery, Solution

Have you activated Xiaomi’s Second Space and noticed that it consumes too much battery? You’re not alone, as there have been several reports of this issue.

However, the excessive battery consumption on your Xiaomi might have other causes, such as misconfigurations or your habits within this Second Space. To help you with this task, let’s go through some possible solutions.

Check which app or process is consuming too much battery

Xiaomi’s Second Space is a useful feature that allows us to have two independent spaces on the phone. For example, you can create a second space for your work account and keep it completely separate from your personal profile.

It’s like having two different phones in one, as each space is treated as a separate user. While it shouldn’t significantly affect battery performance, some users have noticed excessive battery consumption.

The problem may not be the feature itself, but rather your habits within this new space. Just like using the phone in the “normal” mode, having many background apps running will consume more battery.

If you continuously use Bluetooth or have location services enabled in this space, you’ll notice faster battery drain. A quick way to find out what’s draining your battery is to go to Settings >> Battery >> Usage.

In this section, you can see which apps and processes are consuming the most battery. You can filter the information between “Software” and “Hardware” if you want to see detailed consumption. If you’re still unsure about what action to take to improve battery performance, you can tap on the option “Optimize elements to save battery,” as shown in the image.

It may suggest some options to solve the problem immediately or recommend changes to improve battery performance.

Rule out problems with google play services

If Xiaomi’s Second Space was working correctly initially and suddenly you experience battery issues, the problem might be related to Google Play Services. You can’t uninstall this app, but you can try switching to a different version.

First, check if there’s a new version of Google Play Services available that might solve the problem. If it has recently been updated, try uninstalling the update. To do this, go to Apps >> App Management >> Google Play Services >> Uninstall Updates.

If, even after making all the changes on your phone, you still believe that Xiaomi’s Second Space is consuming too much battery, you can delete it and start the configuration from scratch.

It’s not the most practical solution, but it might help resolve any conflicts caused by phone processes or eliminate some apps that you haven’t noticed and aren’t functioning correctly.
