All the details of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE’s design have already been revealed through a video leak earlier this month. This phone boasts premium features from the Galaxy S23 series while aiming for a lower price point. Now, it can officially be confirmed as Samsung has sent a promotional image to its partners.
Samsung has a unique relationship with its “Fan Edition” models, often releasing a new one just a year after the previous model. In 2022, the Galaxy S21 FE was launched shortly after the release of the Galaxy S22 FE. This strategy was partially influenced by the global semiconductor shortage experienced last year, which impacted Samsung’s planned product launches.
In 2023, things have changed, and the company is already preparing for the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE. Several leaks in recent months have indicated that the announcement was imminent, and it can now be confirmed due to an image provided by the leaker Abhishek Yadav. The same leaker claims that this promotional image is a teaser for the launch, which suggests that Samsung is likely to unveil the phone in October.
While some leaks had suggested a late September launch, it seems highly unlikely at this point. The promotional image shows that Samsung will continue with a camera design resembling water droplets on the back, a design that was introduced with the Galaxy S22 series and has been used in the new Galaxy S23 series as well.
Other confirmations that the phone is on its way in October include its appearance in the database of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore and its presence in the FCC’s database. Interestingly, this announcement will come just as Google is set to unveil its new Pixel 8 series. The Galaxy S23 FE is expected to be priced in a similar range as the Pixel 8, albeit closer to the base model. The previous Galaxy S21 FE launched at €759 for the 128GB variant and €829 for the 256GB model. According to recent leaks, the Pixel 8 is expected to be priced at €799 for the 128GB variant and €859 for the 256GB variant.
The Galaxy S23 FE, as reported by Android Police, is expected to feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, either an Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip (depending on the region), a 4,500mAh battery, 8GB of RAM, and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. It will also come with an IP68 water and dust resistance certification, making it an attractive option for those looking to enjoy the features of the Galaxy S23 series at a lower price point.
