Samsung Galaxy A35: Price, features, and possible release date

Samsung’s mid-range lineup is anticipating a new member, one that has already sparked several rumors and leaks. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy A35, a device that promises to be one of the most interesting and advanced in the segment. While there is still no official information about this phone from Samsung, we can already get a fairly close – and even precise – idea of what to expect in terms of features, price, and a possible release date, so let’s get into it.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 is, along with the Galaxy A55, one of the most anticipated phones of the next year. It will also be one of the top models in Samsung’s mid-range, and there is much anticipation regarding its price, features, and possible presentation date. However, as we said at the beginning, there is nothing official about this device. Despite this, we already have a concept of the phone that we will receive later. To do this, we have relied on rumors and leaks that have emerged so far and have provided several interesting details.

Everything we know about the Samsung Galaxy A35 so far: what can we expect?

Samsung Galaxy A35 - 01

One of the most significant innovations that the Samsung will have is related to its camera system. Here, it will take a step forward as it will come with a new sensor that will replace the 48-megapixel sensor in the Galaxy A34, its predecessor. According to one of the most recent rumors, it will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera.

While the resolution jump is not huge, this 50-megapixel sensor in the Galaxy A55 will be capable of achieving higher quality in photos and videos, especially in low-light conditions and situations where light is very scarce. It is not known if this sensor will be a debut with the phone, but it is speculated to be the IMX766, the same as in the Galaxy A54 as the main lens. Whatever it may be, we will have a more interesting camera that will still have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and 4K video recording at a rate of 30 frames per second.

The Samsung Galaxy A35’s wide-angle camera would be upgraded to 12 megapixels. The third sensor completing the photographic trio would be the 5-megapixel macro, already found in the Galaxy A34. Another aspect that would remain unchanged is the selfie camera, which again would have a resolution of 13 megapixels, or at least that’s what the rumors indicate. Similarly, we expect the front camera to jump to 16 megapixels; only then could we see any significant improvement in photos and videos with this lens.

Samsung Galaxy A35 - 02

The design of the Galaxy A35 is still a mystery, but given Samsung’s conservative approach in this regard, we can expect one very similar – if not identical – to the Galaxy A34. The South Korean manufacturer has a solid design line, and we don’t expect any substantial changes in this regard. Thus, although there is still no leaked rendered image of this mid-range phone, it is most likely to continue with a notched display for the front camera, straight edges, and a triple floating camera design, which is what we have been seeing for at least a couple of years in most of Samsung’s recent and advanced phones. It would have a glass back and plastic frames.

The screen is something we don’t have much information about. It is still too early for very detailed leaks, but we can still expect a panel similar to its predecessor, although it is also possible that we get the same screen, unchanged. If this is the case, the Samsung Galaxy A35 will come with a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The brightness would be higher, surpassing the 1,000-nit barrier.

The processor it would come with would not be a Mediatek. Everything points to Samsung opting for the Exynos 1380 chipset used in the Galaxy A54, which has a 5-nanometer node size and a pack of eight cores capable of working at a clock frequency of 2.4 GHz. Likewise, it would have up to 8 GB of RAM and internal memory of up to 256 GB. We expect it to maintain the microSD card slot, but it is possible that it may finally be abandoned.

Samsung Galaxy A35 - 02

Its autonomy would remain unchanged, as it would once again feature a 5,000 mAh battery. In addition, fast charging would be 25 W, so it would take about 1 hour and 20 minutes for a full charge.

Moreover, something that is certain is that it will be presented with Android 14 under One UI 6, the interface that Samsung recently introduced and is already reaching the Galaxy S23. It will also have, at a minimum, 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of minor updates with security patches, bug fixes, and system optimization.

It would also have an under-display fingerprint reader, dual stereo speakers, and IP67 or IP68 water resistance. However, it would lack a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of connectivity, it would feature the typical, which is 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC for contactless mobile payments, GPS with A-GPS and Glonass, and a USB Type-C port.

Price and possible release date

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G will be launched in spring 2024, between February or March, or at least that’s what the most reliable source indicates so far. This seems most logical since the Galaxy A34, A33, and A32 were presented in those months in the last three years. Its launch would be global, so it is expected to reach most countries in Europe and the rest of the world.

Now, regarding its price, it is most likely to be the same as when the Galaxy A34 was presented, starting from 400 euros at the time.
