A new budget-friendly mobile phone is about to hit the market, and it’s the Samsung Galaxy A15. This device is getting closer to being unveiled, and it has just been revealed through a leak. We already know some details about it, so let’s see what the next bestseller from the South Korean manufacturer has in store for us.
The Samsung Galaxy A15 is expected to have modest technical specifications, or at least that’s what’s anticipated. Samsung has not officially announced it yet, so there is no current official information about its features. However, leaked renders give us an idea of what it might look like. Along with these renders, several possible characteristics have also come to light.
As you would expect, the Galaxy A15 will succeed the Galaxy A14, a phone that was released earlier this year and has since gained a reputation as one of the best budget-friendly phones on the market. For this reason, it’s expected that the Galaxy A15 won’t disappoint in terms of performance or price.
The Samsung Galaxy A15 has been revealed thanks to the leaker @OnLeaks and the website The Tech Outlook. Rendered images of this phone provide a detailed look at its design. The first thing we can determine from these images is that it will closely resemble the already known Galaxy A14, so we won’t see a revolution in terms of design.
It was expected that the Galaxy A15 would bid farewell to the “V-shaped” notch, which has been present in the series since the beginning, and it seems that it will, but with a slight twist. What we’ll see on this device is a “U-shaped” notch, also known as Infinity-U. The in-screen hole for the front camera will have to wait.
The device’s renders also reveal a triple rear camera setup. The design of its camera module is the same as what we find in the Galaxy A14 and other Samsung phones, featuring three rings arranged vertically.
The phone’s edges are also straight, just like those of the Samsung Galaxy A14. As for the construction and materials, plastic will once again be the star in this phone, both on the back and the frames, so it’s expected to provide a similar in-hand feel to its predecessor. However, the back of this phone is completely flat, unlike the textured back of the Galaxy A14. In addition, everything points to it being more compact, as its dimensions have been revealed, measuring 160.2 x 76.8 x 8.4 millimeters. Both the length and thickness are smaller than those of the Galaxy A14, but the width is slightly higher, likely due to the reinforced frame. Its reduced size is due to having a smaller screen, which we’ll discuss below.
It’s worth noting that the bottom speaker now has a pill-shaped design, resembling an elongated bar. Previously, on the Galaxy A14 and most Samsung phones, this speaker had output through small holes arranged next to each other. In addition, the design of the Samsung Galaxy A15 reveals that it includes a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom along with a USB Type-C port. On the right side, you can observe the typical volume and power/lock buttons.
As for the possible features of the Samsung Galaxy A15, we can expect several updates. Firstly, its screen will be smaller, going from 6.6 inches to 6.4 inches. This is likely to remain an IPS LCD display, although we hope for a switch to AMOLED. It’s also expected to maintain the Full HD+ resolution of its predecessor.
The processor it will use is still a mystery. However, we hope to see an improvement over the Exynos 850 used in the Samsung Galaxy A14 for better performance. In terms of memory options, the Galaxy A15 is expected to come with 3 or 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It will also have internal storage options of 64 and 128GB, with a microSD card slot for expansion.
In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy A15 may not bring significant changes. It’s possible that it will opt for the same cameras found in the Galaxy A14, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture. However, we expect the ultrawide camera to at least have a higher resolution, around 8 megapixels. The front camera is expected to remain at 13 megapixels with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy A15 will also feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader, as confirmed by its renders. It will also have facial recognition and is expected to run on Android 13 (or perhaps Android 14) with the latest One UI version available at the time. In terms of connectivity, it will support 4G LTE networks, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 or 5.2, NFC for contactless mobile payments, and GPS with A-GPS and Glonass. Depending on the processor it comes with, it may also support 5G.
Finally, regarding the battery, it will have a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. In other words, it will be the same as the Galaxy A14.
The presentation and release date of the Samsung Galaxy A15 is a complete mystery. Samsung has not announced it yet. However, considering the months in which the Galaxy A14 and A13 were launched, it’s likely that the Galaxy A15 will arrive in early 2024, between January and February. Its price, on the other hand, is expected to start at approximately 230 euros.
