Just yesterday, Samsung surprised us with the introduction of the Galaxy S23 FE, followed by the Galaxy A25, which has just been launched a few hours ago. The new offering from the South Korean manufacturer is presented as the successor to the Galaxy A04s, with a series of novelties that serve to update practically all aspects of the device. From design to technical specifications, the company seeks to outpace Xiaomi’s future Redmi 13 with the Samsung Galaxy A05s.

Although the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy A05s shares similarities with its predecessor, the back now displays a more vibrant color combination and a rugged look. Accompanied by a 6.7-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution, although the company does not mention the panel’s refresh rate or the maximum brightness level. We can assume, therefore, that it has a 60 Hz refresh rate, which would be a step back from the 90 Hz of the 2022 model.
Regarding the interior, the Galaxy A05s opts for the Snapdragon 680, accompanied by only 4 GB of RAM and two options of internal storage, 64 GB and 128 GB, expandable via microSD cards up to 1 TB. The bad news is that it does not have 5G connectivity, although it features a 5,000 mAh battery and 25 W fast charging. The software version, by the way, has not been unveiled by the company, but everything points to it being based on One UI Core, an adaptation for more modest devices.
In fact, on paper, there is no improvement, as we find the same three sensors as always. We are talking about a 50-megapixel main camera and secondary and tertiary 2-megapixel sensors with a macro lens and another dedicated to Portrait Mode. The front camera includes a 13-megapixel sensor, so it remains the same as the model from last year. In other words, no optical stabilization, wide-angle camera, or improvements in specifications.
The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G is already available in three different colors (black, green, and silver). The variant with 128 GB of internal storage is priced at 180 euros, while the version with 64 GB is available for 160 euros.
