The support for four updates for part of Samsung’s catalog is not something new, and we learned about this new policy just a month ago. Now, the new Galaxy A24 can reach Android 17 by enjoying up to four major updates.
The Samsung Galaxy A24 has been quietly launched. It is one of the cheapest Galaxy phones and it comes to replace the Galaxy A23. Now, it will be even more attractive thanks to the four major updates it will receive.
Until now, this new update policy from Samsung had only been applied to the Galaxy A33, so the fact that the Galaxy A24 will be able to reach Android 17 shows the manufacturer’s intentions to extend the lifespan of its low-end devices.
Launched with One UI 5.1 based on Android 13, this phone will have the ability to receive all the upcoming Google updates; and if we know that Sundar Pichai just yesterday announced that Android 14 will receive new developments, having a phone in hand that can be updated for so long is a significant factor in deciding to buy it over other phones from other brands.
This new Galaxy A24 has been launched in Vietnam and some regions in Africa, and it is characterized by its 6.5″ FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Helio G99 chip, a 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging, 6/8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, and dual SIM support.
The rear of the phone features a triple camera system composed of a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. On the front, it has a 13 MP camera.
The price of the Galaxy A24 in its 6 GB RAM variant is 249 euros converted, while the other one, the 8 GB RAM variant, goes up to 268 euros.
