“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” could be the first 3D series for Apple Vision Pro glasses

Despite the fact that the new Apple Vision Pro glasses are not expected until at least 2024, the California-based company is already working hard to provide them with content, and it seems we already know what will be one of their first audiovisual productions: none other than a series from their famous “Monsterverse.”

As revealed by Sigmund Judge, the director of the ScreenTimes portal, Apple has started filming a series called “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.” Its distinctive element? It will be able to take advantage of the three-dimensional video format supported by the new Vision Pro glasses.

The series will be set in the famous “Monsterverse” that emerged in 2014 with Godzilla, followed by movies filled with legendary monsters like Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong. Rumors about a series set in Apple’s Monsterverse are not new, so it doesn’t sound far-fetched that Cupertino wants to leverage it as a hook for their new mixed reality glasses.

Considering the previous projects in the series, it sounds exciting to take advantage of Apple’s spatial video format to immerse ourselves in the action and witness epic battles with giant monsters happening right beside us.

The new series takes place after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that devastated San Francisco and will be produced by Legendary Television with Chris Black (Star Trek: Enterprise, Outcast) as the showrunner.
