While many smartphones are chosen to receive updates, others are not so fortunate and begin to be discontinued. For this reason, today we will tell you whether there will be MIUI 15 for the Poco X3 and X3 Pro. So if you have one of these devices in your possession, find out once and for all if you can update and clear up any doubts you may have.
MIUI 15, the new version of Xiaomi’s custom skin, will bring several interesting features that no one wants to miss out on. However, not all smartphones will be compatible with this update, and any owner of the Poco X3 or Poco X3 Pro wants to know if their phone will be one of the lucky ones or not. As you can imagine, everyone wants to hop on the MIUI 15 bandwagon.
As they say: a warned soldier is not killed. What does this mean? Well, it’s better that you know right away if there will be MIUI 15 for the Poco X3 and X3 Pro so that the news doesn’t catch you off guard. If you’re one of those who wants to try out the new features that this update will bring, then you’ve come to the right place.
The Poco X3 and Poco X3 Pro are very similar, but they have some important differences. The main difference between the two is performance. The Poco X3 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor and up to 8 GB of RAM, while the Poco X3 NFC has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor and 6 GB of RAM. This means that the Poco X3 Pro is more powerful and offers a better experience than the Poco X3 NFC.
They also have some differences in terms of cameras, as both feature a quad-camera setup, but the Poco X3 has a 64-megapixel primary lens, while the Poco X3 Pro has a 48-megapixel primary lens. Additionally, the Poco X3’s wide-angle camera is 13 megapixels, whereas the Poco X3 Pro’s is 8 megapixels. The other two sensors, dedicated to macro photography and depth sensing, are the same on both devices. The front-facing camera also has the same configuration on both phones.
Another significant difference is in internal storage. The Poco X3 Pro offers 128 GB or even up to 256 GB of storage, while the Poco X3 NFC comes with 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. Furthermore, the internal storage of the Poco X3 Pro uses UFS 2.1 and 2.2, making it faster than that of the Poco X3 NFC.
In terms of software, both phones come with MIUI 12, Xiaomi’s custom skin, and Android 11. But, will they be compatible with the MIUI 15 update?
A specialized Xiaomi portal has leaked a provisional list of 48 Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones that apparently will not receive MIUI 15. Keep in mind that this list is based on speculation and update patterns from previous MIUI versions. It is not an official Xiaomi list or anything like that, but all signs point to these devices missing out on the update.
Did you notice? According to this list, neither the Poco X3 nor the Poco X3 NFC will receive MIUI 15. However, the name of the Poco X3 Pro is nowhere to be found. Based on this information, the Poco X3 is not going to update to MIUI 15, but the Poco X3 Pro will. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait for official information from Xiaomi to know for sure.
