How to protect your photos from prying eyes on Samsung Galaxy A53 and A54

Do you want to protect your photos on the Samsung Galaxy A53 and A54 to keep them away from prying eyes? While there are many ways to add extra security and privacy to your photos, if you have a Samsung mobile, you have a built-in feature for this task.

You just need to go through a quick setup, and you’ll have a secure space to protect your photos and videos on your phone. If you’re not sure how to do it, don’t worry; we’ll guide you through the process.

Use the secure folder feature on your Samsung

One of the options available to keep our photos private and away from prying eyes is the “Secure Folder” feature.

It’s a separate storage section from the phone’s gallery that allows you to add an extra layer of security to the content you want to keep private.

One thing to note is that this is not a feature that is set up by default, so you’ll need to activate it to save your photos. Here are the steps:

You’ll be prompted for certain permissions because this feature not only includes photos and videos but can also be used to protect other data, apps, and content.

Once you’ve granted the necessary permissions, you’ll need to select a locking method. When you finish the setup, the “Secure Folder” icon will be automatically added, allowing you easy access to this section at any time.

Remember that this section stores various contents and apps, so you won’t only see your photos when you open it.

Different sections of your phone will have been duplicated, so you’ll need to look for your images within “Gallery” and the photos you’ve captured from this section in the “Camera” section.

To save an image, whether from the gallery or file explorer, simply select it and choose “Move to Secure Folder.”

Use Third-party apps to keep your photos private on Samsung

If you find the “Secure Folder” method impractical, you can turn to third-party apps to keep your photos secure and private.

For example, if you have the Google Files app installed on your Samsung Galaxy A53 or A54 for file management, you can use it to protect your photos. You’ll notice that in this app, the feature that helps with this task is also called “Secure Folder,” but it has a simpler dynamic.

All you need to do is set up a PIN to lock this section and send any photos or files you want to protect. Just like with Samsung’s feature, select the photo or image, and choose “Move to Secure Folder.”

One thing to note is that if you uninstall the app, everything you’ve saved in the secure folder will be deleted. If you don’t usually use the Files app but have the Google Photos app installed, you can use one of its functions to protect your photos.

In this case, the function is called “Private Folder.” After going through a brief setup, you can send photos and videos that you don’t want to appear in your library. Just select the photo and choose the “Move to Private Folder” option.

These are just two options found in third-party apps, but there are many applications that offer some function to protect your photos or videos on your mobile device.
