HONOR Magic V2 lives up to its name. There’s true magic in this phone, especially in the spectacular work that HONOR has done to make its foldable phone less than a centimeter thick. That’s three millimeters thinner than a heavyweight on the market like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. And it doesn’t compromise on battery life, as this phone can integrate a 5,000 milliampere battery that lasts for nearly 14 hours of browsing and video playback. The revolution is coming to the foldable market. However, we’ll have to wait until early 2024 to see it in Spanish stores. In the meantime, let’s go over its main features to whet your appetite.

That was the big challenge and achievement that HONOR Magic V2 has accomplished. Creating a foldable phone that feels in your hand like a traditional phone. Until now, despite the significant advances since the first generation, carrying a foldable book-style phone in your pocket felt somewhat cumbersome, both due to its thickness and weight. Despite its obvious advantages in enjoying a screen the size of a small tablet, many of us couldn’t fully embrace this format. Well, HONOR Magic V2 breaks away from this idea thanks to its thickness of less than a centimeter, which gets remarkably close to what we experience with a traditional phone. Furthermore, it only weighs 231 grams, which is almost the same as phones like the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
You might think that if the phone is so thin and light, it will also be fragile. The truth is quite the opposite, at least according to the tests conducted by the company: more than 400,000 folds and unfolds without any damage. Initially, it will be available in various colors, although we’ll have to wait and see what happens when it arrive.
Clearly, in a foldable phone, the quality of the displays must be top-notch. HONOR Magic V2 goes all out in this regard, with two panels that more than fulfill their role as a benchmark in the high-end segment. In both cases, we have an AMOLED LTPO display, a technology that allows for better energy management. In the case of the unfolded screen, we jump to 6.92 inches, with a brightness level of 1,600 nits. If we switch to the exterior screen, its size is 6.43 inches, and the brightness reaches an impressive 2,000 nits. In both cases, you can enjoy content without any visibility issues, even on a sunny day. Furthermore, these are panels with over 10 billion colors, which is quite remarkable, and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother performance. Of course, it also includes support for HDR10+ content on platforms like Netflix. However, what might catch your attention the most is its technology to reduce vibrations and allow you to use these screens for hours without straining your eyes.
HONOR Magic V2 has also paid attention to the camera department. The Asian company has introduced a three-sensor system on the rear, including one with a three-fold optical zoom, another main sensor for more versatile use, and a third ultra-wide-angle sensor for wide-angle photos.
Now, let’s move on to another noteworthy aspect of HONOR Magic V2: its battery life. It’s surprising that despite being less than a centimeter thick, the company has come up with a 5,000 milliampere battery. The key lies in the use of silicon-carbon battery technology, which allows us to store the same amount of energy in a smaller surface area. The result is a phone that can last all day on a single charge, with up to 14 hours of browsing. Additionally, it includes 66W fast charging technology.
In conclusion, a smartphone that captivates you with its design and surprises with its thinness and a 5,000 milliampere battery in such a slim body. Moreover, it boasts screens that rank among the best on the market and holds its own in the field of photography. There are still a few months to go before we can enjoy HONOR Magic, but this phone promises a lot.
