It was already known that the new Galaxy S24 series from Samsung would be unveiled in mid-January 2024, but until today, no real images had leaked that showcased the concept of the new design. That day has now arrived with a series of photos revealing all the details of the new Korean flagship.
In recent weeks, some rendered images have emerged showing the change in the front, marking one of the most significant transformations for the new Galaxy S24 Ultra: the disappearance of the curved edges. This means that Samsung is opting for straighter lines on the screen, but it has not forgotten about the curved sides of the phone frame.
The leaked images today confirm the information provided in recent months and also make it clear that there are no significant changes to the back, continuing with the waterdrop design from the Galaxy S22 series. The most significant change is the flat front screen, abandoning the curved edges that have been a hallmark of Samsung’s flagship phones.
This leak comes from the account @DavidMa05368498, and although its gray color could suggest that it might be a test unit, it is indeed the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The flat screen takes center stage to eliminate the ghost touches that often occur with curved screens; S Pen enthusiasts will enjoy using the screen to its full extent.
Perhaps the most interesting detail is on the side where hardly anything changes, but there is what could be a possible antenna according to SamMobile; it could be the mmwave antenna for real 5G in the United States (used in the same location on the iPhone). This location is quite different from the current Galaxy S23 Ultra available. Other than that, there is little more to say, except that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be a phone focused on generative AI with a new version of One UI coming to version 6.1.
It will also feature other innovations such as Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chip, an improved version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Exynos, and all three models in the series will debut a new Samsung AMOLED display; another important aspect that will elevate the peak brightness.
Another aspect that will be improved, although it’s already challenging due to the excellent video stabilization of the S23 Ultra, is video recording, with an example that Samsung showcased a few weeks ago: features like Zoom Anyplace, to focus on the subject and be able to zoom in throughout the recording, or the ability to reduce image processing time with E2E AI Remosaic.
