The tablet market is heating up. Until recently, we had two options, and most people simply chose an Apple iPad. But in recent years, interesting Android alternatives have been emerging, such as the OnePlus Pad or the Pixel Tablet.
However, if anyone can compete head-to-head with Apple, it’s Samsung. The Korean brand is the only one capable of competing in terms of raw power, meaning in terms of features and performance. The leak of the new Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra confirms that this year will be no different. As usual, the leak comes from OnLeaks, who this time collaborated with MySmartPrice for the publication of the images.
These computer-rendered images should be enough to give us an idea of what the new tablet will look like. As usual with the “Ultra” name, it will be a premium high-end model where Samsung will go all out.
The design of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will be an evolution of last year’s Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, much like the Galaxy S23 launched earlier this year was an evolution of the Galaxy S22. In fact, the main aesthetic changes are also similar. To start with, the camera setup mimics that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, keeping the two cameras completely separate.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will feature a premium finish with a metallic chassis and an elegant appearance. Just below the cameras, there will be a magnetic area for the stylus, which is the only part that will truly stand out on the back. It will have IP67 certification for water and dust resistance and will weigh 737 grams. On the bottom, there will be connectors to use a keyboard case.
The display will be 14.6 inches, and like the current model, it will have a notch that houses the dual front camera in a position that is ideal for horizontal video calls. Speaking of the display, the leak states that it will be based on a 2960 x 1848 pixel Super OLED panel, with excellent color calibration that covers 120% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
As for the internals, it is expected that Samsung will opt for the same processor used in its flagship smartphone, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, accompanied by an 11,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging. We will learn more about this device in the coming months, likely in July when the next Samsung foldable devices are expected to be unveiled.
