Galaxy AI: phones compatible with Samsung’s AI

If you’ve been paying attention to the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, you probably know that AI is the star of the series.

Real-time audio and text translation, a new way to gather additional information without leaving apps, a translator on the keyboard that translates as you type, among other AI-driven features. All seamlessly integrated directly into the phones, thanks to Galaxy AI.

What is Galaxy AI, and which phones are compatible with Samsung’s AI? Let’s break it down.

What is Galaxy AI?

Samsung describes Galaxy AI as a “comprehensive AI experience” that users can enjoy on their mobile phones. It’s not just one of the apps in Samsung’s suite; rather, it’s an artificial intelligence system integrated into the phone.

Thanks to this technology, users can access a range of AI-powered features on certain Samsung models that assist with various daily activities.

For example, bidirectional real-time translations of text and calls, saving you the need to rely on specific apps. You can also make use of an interpreter feature that will translate live conversations on the screen for all participants, even offline. Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, ProVisual Engine, and many other AI-driven features are part of the package.

If your phone is compatible with Galaxy AI, you won’t need to pay a subscription or add anything extra to the phone to enjoy this new dynamic proposed by Samsung’s AI. Of course, it’s essential to note that not all AI features will be available on all compatible devices, and some of them may be exclusive to selected models.

Galaxy AI: Compatible Phones

We already know that the new Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra come with integrated Galaxy AI from their launch, but it won’t be exclusive to these models. Samsung plans to integrate Galaxy AI into other models in the future, along with the One UI 6.1 update.

While there isn’t a specific date, this update should arrive during the first half of 2024. And, of course, among the first on the list are the models from the previous generation of the S series:

At the moment, it’s also known that Galaxy AI will be included in these models:

This isn’t the complete list, so we’ll have to wait for the Samsung team to confirm other models that will be compatible with their AI in the future.
