It’s no secret that Xiaomi Redmi Note has become a true bestseller in the Android universe over time. Due to this, many people around the world eagerly await their operating system updates to try out new functions. However, there is still a lot of uncertainty about whether the Android 14 version will actually arrive for the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 and its family.

In case you didn’t know, Android 14 is currently in beta. This means that we’ll have to wait until August or September for its final and definitive version to be presented. So far, it is known that only some Xiaomi mobiles and users will be able to enjoy the trial version through the Mi Pilot program, as it is not yet openly available, nor globally.
Everything points to Android 14 arriving together with MIUI 14 on Xiaomi mobiles, at least initially. But unfortunately, not all mobiles that receive MIUI 14 will get Android 14, and this may leave out the Redmi Note 10 family.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 series was introduced in mid-2021 with Android 11 under MIUI 13. As you can imagine, we’re talking about devices that are starting to become outdated in this year 2023.
Keep in mind that Xiaomi’s update policy usually does not offer their devices more than two years of major updates. As a result, Xiaomi mobiles generally receive, at most, two Android updates. What does this mean? That the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, 10S, and 10 Pro would no longer receive any more significant updates, remaining with Android 13 under MIUI 14. As you may be imagining, this is somewhat disappointing news for the owners of these mobiles.
Although Android 14 will not officially arrive on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, 10S, and 10 Pro, there may be a way to obtain this new software version, and that is with LineageOS.
LineageOS is a popular fork of Android that can bring Android 14 to this family of devices. It is a custom ROM of the operating system created by third parties that utilizes the Android source code. Currently, there is no version of LineageOS that has Android 14 because the final version of Android 14 has yet to be released, which means we have to wait until late August or early September.
However, it is not entirely certain that there will be a LineageOS version with Android 14 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, 10S, and 10 Pro. Keep in mind that it only releases for certain models of mobiles, so we’ll have to wait for it to be released for the Redmi Note 10. When the stable version of the operating system is official, it could take a few weeks or months until a LineageOS version with Android 14 arrives.
